We don't offer personal loans in the UK

Credicorp lends only to UK limited companies. We don't lend to individuals, and we don't offer personal loans, payday loans, or guarantor loans. If you landed here looking to borrow as a person rather than as a company, this page points you to the right place.

We'd rather be straight with you than take you through an application that can't end in a loan.

You run a limited company

If you're a director of a UK limited company and the borrowing is for the business, our Business Bridging Loan may fit. The loan is to the company, not to you personally — we don't take a personal guarantee, and we don't assess your personal income or credit file.

You're a sole trader or in a partnership

We currently lend only to incorporated companies, so we can't lend to you as a sole trader or an ordinary partnership. Borrowing taken out by a sole trader is treated in law as personal borrowing, with different protections — so it isn't something we offer.

If you're thinking about incorporating, becoming a limited company changes who the borrower is and may open up business lending. It's a real decision with tax and admin consequences, so take proper advice first — the free Companies House guidance and a qualified accountant are the right starting points.

For free, independent help with business money worries, Business Debtline (run by the Money Advice Trust) is the specialist service for self-employed people and small businesses: businessdebtline.org · 0800 197 6026 · free advice for the self-employed and small businesses.

You're looking to borrow as an individual

We don't lend to individuals at all, so we can't help with a personal loan — but these free, independent services can help you weigh up your options and avoid expensive mistakes. None of them charge for advice.

  • MoneyHelper— moneyhelper.org.uk · the UK government-backed money guidance service — free, impartial help with borrowing, budgeting and debt.
  • StepChange Debt Charity— free debt advice and managed plans for individuals. Search for the charity name "StepChange".
  • Citizens Advice— free, in-person, phone and online help with money, benefits, housing and consumer rights. Search for "Citizens Advice".

If a personal loan is right for you, an FCA-authorised lender that is allowed to lend to individuals — and a comparison through MoneyHelper — is the safe route. Be wary of anyone who guarantees acceptance or asks for an upfront fee.

If you are checking that a site really is us, here is which Credicorp websites are genuinely ours — anything outside that list is not.

Common questions about personal loans

Can I get a personal loan from Credicorp?

No. Credicorp lends only to UK limited companies and LLPs. We do not offer personal loans, individual loans, or any other form of consumer credit. If you are looking for personal borrowing in the UK, MoneyHelper (moneyhelper.org.uk) can guide you to FCA-authorised personal loan providers.

What is the difference between a personal loan and a business loan?

A personal loan is borrowed by an individual and covered by FCA consumer-credit regulation, including the Financial Ombudsman Service. A business loan from Credicorp is borrowed by the company — not the director personally. That means no personal guarantee, no personal liability and no impact on your personal credit file.

Does Credicorp lend to sole traders or self-employed individuals?

Not currently. We lend only to incorporated limited companies. Borrowing as a sole trader is treated in law as personal borrowing, which sits outside our lending mandate. Business Debtline (0800 197 6026) offers free, specialist advice for self-employed people on business finance options.

What personal finance UK resources can help me if Credicorp can't?

MoneyHelper (moneyhelper.org.uk), Citizens Advice and StepChange Debt Charity offer free, impartial guidance on personal finance in the UK — covering borrowing, budgeting and debt management. None charge for initial advice.
